The EnerGel-X Campaign Pen from Pentel: A Review

As a college student, I went through a myriad of pens and pencils to take notes, write memos, and of course to aimlessly doodle in the margins of said notes and memos. Most of the pens I used in college were cheap free ones that I would pick up at special events, but these pens never lasted very long. I would then of course go purchase ‘gigantor’ packs of pens at the store. These packs of pens included the typical brands such as Bic, Pentel, Sharpie, Piolet, etc. I would always try a different type and brand of pen in my attempt to find the ‘perfect’ pen; however, over the years I have realized that there is no ‘perfect all occasion’ pen on the market- at least for me. However, the EnerGel-X Campaign pen by Pentel is rapidly changing my mind.

Being the disturbingly obsessed pen person that I am, I was ecstatic to see a pen in my College VoxBox from Influenster. In fact, if Influenster were to have only sent me the pen I would not have noticed the other missing items. The pen I received in my box was a black EnerGel-X 0.07mm pen by Pentel. This pen is very similar to the G-2 0.07mm pen by Piolet in style, shape, size, and that it’s a ‘push top’ pen. The EnerGel-X pen even has the little ball of plastic on the tip of the pen that must be removed before using, which has always been a difficult task for me. -_-

Like the G-2, the EnerGel-X writes very smoothly. However, I find that the EnerGel-X pen does not skip when writing, unlike the G-2. The EnerGel-X also dries faster and does not smear once DRY, and I personally find the EnerGel-X more pleasant to hold and write with. The ink in this pen is also a ‘gel’ ink which gives it a smooth almost floating appearance on the paper. My only issue with this pen is that it is visible on the back side of the paper after writing. Over all this is a wonderful pen that I have enjoyed writing and doodling with and will continue to use in the future.

This pen is so fun to doodle with!

The Influenster College VoxBox 2012

Earlier this week I received a package in the mail from Influenster called the VoxBox. Influenster is a website where consumers can give their personal opinions on various products as well as earn badges and points which qualify them for one of their VoxBoxes. Each VoxBox has a specific ‘theme’ such as Beauty, Weddings, Moms, Love, Seasons, etc., and they are sent to consumers for free with the only expectation being that you confirm that you received the box and that you share your true opinion on the products. I recently joined Influenster late last October, and the box I received was the Influenster College VoxBox 2012.

Here is what I saw when I opened the box.
