Broadway Nails imPRESS Press-on Manicure: A Review

I am in no way a fake nail sort of girl. In fact, I have -up until recently- never had fake nails on for longer than two hours. So when I received these nails I did not expect much. The pattern I received was D030 Holla!, which I was not crazy about, but I tried them on just to see if they would stay on, and I was pleasantly surprised at how well they stayed on. I had them on for a full week before I decided to pry them off.

These nails are easy to apply, and each package has a multitude of sizes to choose from. It took me around 6 minutes total to clip down my nails, clean them with the alcohol prep pad, and apply the nails. After you factor in drying time for regular nails that is a huge time savor.

While wearing the nails I did everything I would normally do during the week including washing dishes by hand (a TON of dishes during Thanksgiving). They survived a lot of abuse surprisingly. Due to their short length it was easy to pick up objects because the nails did not get in the way (but I did have to cut down my natural nails to prevent them from showing).

The one problem that I do have with these nails, however, is that they do not sit flat against my natural nail leaving a fairly decent gap. While this did not cause the nail to lift up or come off, I am concerned about any bacteria and dirt that would possibly work its way under the fake nail. However, I do believe that this is the same for all fake nails. Another issue is that the pattern started to wear off on the tips of the nails after a week but I was harsh on the nails and believe that a solid color nail would not have worn as easily in comparison to a pattern.

Here they are on after a week. You can slightly see the pattern wearing off on the tips.

Lastly, I was afraid that that the nails would be hard to remove since they had stayed on so well. However, I was pleasantly surprised that when I gently peeled up the edge of the nails they came off easily and without harming my nails.

I know some people had trouble with these nails but for me they worked wonderfully and I will be sure to use them for special events in the future.

Tips:
I know some people had issues with their nails not staying on. I believe this is either due to any residue left on the nail before application or the shape/length of their natural nail. Make sure that you remove any oils from your nails with the included prep pad. This prep pad is located behind the pink slip of paper in the packaging. If you need more than the single prep pad conatins, just use rubbing alcohol and a cotton ball. Also, if you typically have on fake nails, make sure there is no residue from any other fake nails or glue and that the surfaces of your nails are relatively smooth.

For those falling under issue two, I would recommend growing out your nails if possible so that the glue has more natural nail to adhere to and to ensure that the surface of your nails is relatively smooth. If you have flatter nails, hold the nails down firmly for a longer period of time.
